About this forum
Midsize Sedan Forum opened in August 2025 for people who drive an ordinary sedan to work and want to talk about it with other people who do. Camry, Accord, Altima, Sonata, Malibu, Elantra, K5, Legacy, Mazda3 and 6, Corolla, Civic, Sentra. Nobody here is going to argue about whether a Corolla belongs on a midsize board.
The big car boards are either one brand deep, or they are full of people posting lease deals on cars nobody in this thread can afford. This one is for the 140,000 mile question, the recall letter nobody understands, and the thread where somebody finally writes down what a car cost them with the tax and the plates in the number.
It is run by Tanya R., who posts as mod_tanya_r. She wrote service tickets at an independent shop in Des Moines for fourteen years, which is where most of her opinions about paperwork come from, and she drives a 2016 Accord Sport with 198,000 miles on it. She reads the contact mailbox herself, usually in the evening.
Money
The server costs nine dollars a month and Tanya pays it. There are no ads on any page, no affiliate links in any post, and no analytics or tracking scripts anywhere on the site. Nobody pays to be mentioned here. If that ever changes, it will be written on this page before it happens anywhere else.
House rules
- Year, engine and mileage in every question. A 2018 Accord with the 1.5 turbo and a 2018 Accord with the 2.0 are two different cars and the answer changes.
- If you bought it, say what you paid, with the tax and the fees in the number. A price with no tax in it helps nobody compare anything.
- No selling cars in threads. There is no classifieds board here on purpose. Linking a public listing to make a point is fine.
- If you work at a dealership, a shop, an insurance agency, a broker or an auction, say so in your posts. Techs answering questions are the best thing about this place. People finding out later is the worst.
- Be civil about transmissions. The CVT people and the torque converter people have to share this forum.
- Mods move posts to the right board and leave a note saying where it went. Threads get locked rarely and the reason gets posted.
- Accounts are by email request until the spam settles down.
What this is not
Not a dealership, not a shop, not a parts counter and not the factory service manual. When somebody here gives you a torque spec, a fluid interval or a tire pressure, check it against the book for your car before you trust your brakes to it.
